This vaccination immunises you against Hepatitis A, a serious liver disease caused by the hepatitis A virus that can be contracted when an uninfected (and unvaccinated) person ingests food or water that is contaminated with the faeces of an infected person.

Dosage Information:

Recommended to have 2 doses, administered 6 months apart.
Children aged 6 months old may receive 1 dose prior to traveling, however doses before 12 months old will not be counted towards the recommended 2-dose regime.

Protection:

10 to 20 years; no booster is required after completing 2 doses.

This vaccination is recommended for travellers going to countries where hepatitis A is common.
