The measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine is a combination vaccine that protects against three different viral diseases. The vaccine contains small amounts of weakened or inactivated viruses that trigger the immune system to produce antibodies that protect against future infections.

It is an important part of routine childhood immunization schedules and is recommended for all children, unless they have a medical reason for not receiving it.

Dosage Information:

It is recommended to have two doses. First dose at 12 months and second dose at 15 months as per NCIS.
In some cases, the vaccine may also be given to adults who have never had the diseases or the vaccine. No booster is required.
